MCN Drive Through Food Giveaway Begins at 4:00p.m.

OKMULGEE, Oklahoma – The Muscogee (Creek) Nation is holding a drive through food giveaway on Nov. 19.

Starting at 4 pm today citizens can pull up in their vehicles to their pickup locations for contactless food pick up.

Staff members of the MCN Employment and Training office spent the day putting food packages together for citizens.

According to MCN Employment and Training Manager Courtney Josie have estimated to serve around 750 citizens at the Okmulgee pick up location the Mvskoke Dome.

Other sites include the community centers in Bristow, Dewar, Eufaula, Holdenville, Muskogee, Okemah and Tulsa.

“We are also working with the MCN Transit,” Josie said. “They are delivering packages to some homebound elders.”

Josie also mentioned that students from Beggs High School helped in the prepping the day prior to the event to help obtain community service hours.

Turkeys were delivered to the sites early today to be dispersed.

“We got turkeys, canned chicken, canned tuna, canned vegetables, and fresh vegetables,” Josie said.

Citizens must have proof of citizenship to receive a food package. Limit one per household.

Recipients may retrieve packages for others with proof of household’s citizenship.

The drive through food give away will conclude at 6:30 pm.

On Dec 17, the MCN will provide another drive through food away.
