Lutheran men, pastors to meet Nov. 12
FREMONT – The fall meeting of the Portage Valley Federation of Lutheran Men and Pastors is holding the Fall Meeting on Nov. 12 at Grace Lutheran Church, 705 W. State St.
The fellowship begins at 6:30 p.m. The Worship and Business meeting will begin at 7:15 p.m. led by Pastor Jody Rice. The special speaker for the evening will be Pastor Dr. Diane Carter, pastor of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Bellevue. Carter, before entering the ministry, was a captain of a ladder truck in the New York City area and was involved the Twin Towers attack rescue operations. Her topic will be “Reflecting on 9/11.”
The current federation project is funding renovations of the Pfeiffer House to provide a place that family and friends of the residents of the home may stay while visiting.
The Luther Home of Mercy provides care for physically and mentally challenged persons.
Those who cannot attend the meeting but wish to contribute to the project may send a check to Treasurer Ralph W. Aufdenkamp, 8369 Kramer Road, Bowling Green, OH 43402.

First UMC to hold craft show
CLYDE – First United Methodist Church will host its annual craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 23 at 510 W. Maple St. There will be vendors and lunch will be available.
The church is wheelchair- and stroller-accessible.
St. Paul to host Christmas Tree Lane
CLYDE – St. Paul Lutheran Church will host Christmas Tree Lane on Nov. 22 to 24 at 147 W. Forest St., as part of Winesburg Christmas Weekend. Trees will be decorated by local businesses, groups and individuals. There will be free charicatures from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 24, limit one per family. Event hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 22, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 23 and noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 24.
Operation Christmas Child sets drop-off dates in Ottawa County
OTTAWA COUNTY – Samaritan’s Purse’s “Operation Christmas Child” in Ottawa County will again have two drop-off locations.
The locations are: St. Paul Lutheran Church, 541 Church Road, Marblehead, with leader Jean Rhodes at 419-739-0579, and Oak Harbor Alliance Chapel, 11805 W. Ohio 105, Oak Harbor, with leader Mary Hill at 419-898-4048.
Individuals, organizations and churches may drop off filled shoeboxes Nov. 18 to 25 at either location. Call the location leader to confirm times.
Shoeboxes are to be filled with toys, school supplies and hygiene items to be delivered to children in need around the world. Each shoebox also will include literature introducing Jesus Christ.
