Costco members support
non-members on food
Re: “Costco’s food court policy hits low-income families” (Letter to the editor, Mercurynews.com, Feb. 25):
The letter writer bemoaning Costco’s policy change to restrict food court purchases to members only, is misinformed.
Costco loses money on food court purchases. So denying non-members the ability to purchase at the food court, members are no longer subsidizing non-members.
Since each membership includes two cards, splitting the cost is a cheap option. If cheap eats is the only reason to go to Costco, they always have the dollar menu at every fast food restaurant.
