Corbin homeless shelter in need after thieves steal food supply, mattresses

CORBIN, Ky. (WKYT) – A Corbin homeless shelter dedicated to giving back to those in need is now asking for the public’s help after its food supply was stolen.

The Everlasting Arms Ministry and Homeless Shelter says thieves stole approximately $2,000 in meat and other food items. The theft happened over the weekend while workers were at a church Christmas play.

Several mattresses and box springs were also stolen.

The shelter says it now has no food to give to those in need. It is asking for help so it can continue its mission during one of the busiest times of the year.

Shelter staff says the doors to the building were ripped off the hinges during the break-in.

The shelter is located at 431 Standard Avenue. To contact the shelter, you can call (606) 528-3669.
